Night Moves 2012
Saturday, August 18, 2012

Hosted by: Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office
and Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

Night Moves is an annual patrol simulation exercise for experienced explorers.  Small teams of 3 or 4 explorers are assigned to a marked police vehicle and dispatched by radio to a variety of simulated calls for service in real world locations.  The explorers have to work the radio, navagate to the calls, handle the calls, complete any necessary reports and manage their own time.  Night Moves is as close to the experience of being a police officer as anyone can get without being sworn in.

We utilize officers and volunteers to role-play the victims, witnesses and suspects for the situations the explorers are responding to.  For safety, we place a uniformed police officer at the location of each simulated call and the police vehicles are driven by a police officer.

The explorers performance is judged at some of the calls and awards are given to the teams with the best performance.

LEEPAAC will continue planing for the 2012 Night Moves competition at the montly meetings.  Please attend a monthly meeting or contact a board member if you would like to provide input or help out.
