LEEPAAC offers an annual weekend Leadership Academy for explorers who hope to, or currently serve in youth leadership positions within their explorer post. The training includes seminars and exercises in a variety of leadership skills including communications, trouble shooting, organization, team building and many others.
The Leadership Academy is held at the YMCA of the Rockies in beautiful Estes Park. Explorers arive Friday evening and participate in classes until Sunday afternoon.
Every third year, LEEPAAC hosts an Advisor Leadership Retreat rather than a Youth Leadership Academy.
LEEPAAC is currently planning the 2012 Academy. 2012 is the scheduled year for an advisor conference, but some discussions are occuring to hold a Youth Leadership Conference instead. If you would like to have input into this decision, and the planning for the Leadership Conference, please attend a monthly LEEPAAC meeting or contact any board member.
